Abstract expressionist, painter, printmaker and co-founder of the Painters Eleven group, Harold Town (1924-1990) was known for his dedication to abstraction and his innovative printing technique known as single autographic prints. He produced these monotype prints from 1953-1959. They are characterized by multiple impressions and the addition of stencils (used to create voids), painting and collage. King Fence Sentinels #2, 1957 is an example of his pioneering single autographic print technique.
